God gave us.....

I have been trying to teach the kids that God gave us only one Ali, one Sammie, and one Dash, so we need to be nice and take care of eachother.

This was Sammie's interupation of this fact:
"God no have more Ali's, so I no pop her"

Ali had just stuck her finger in Sammie's mouth and I told Sammie not to bite her and that was her response!

Insomnia

I am beginning to think that Sammie's insomnia is caused by allergies. That girl is coughing A LOT at night!

Words

I was made aware of a website called, http://www.kidsbowlfree.com/ and on this website you can sign your kids up to receive 1 coupon per day per kid valid for 2 free games of bowling for the ENTIRE summer! So i signed Dash and Sammie up. Today was our first time going EVER. Dash bowled an 89! Dash used his Wii bowling technique and if the ball were any lighter, he would have had "perfect" bowling form! Sammie bowled a 90(using the set the ball down and push it method), but Dash and her tag teamed the game. Everytime Sammie pushed the ball down and nocked the pins over, she would give Dash a great big hug and say....I did it! It was so much fun. We had the place to ourselves and I really look forward to going next week!

trust

Last night on our way to the Brewer game to celebrate Dash's birthday, Dash was concerned that we were not going to the game. This is because we were not taking 1-94 in, but taking bluemound in.

I reasurred him that we were going to the game and asked him if he could trust me and from the third row seating I hear, "I trusting you mom"

It brought tears to my eyes!

Nebs

Neb treatments are back in action for Ali. It seems that whenever she gets a cold is settles in there and she ends up on the nebs to keep her from wheezing. Why this happens I am not sure, we usually end up giving her clariton or zyrtek to dry up the mucus and then she is fine and no more nebs. So today we went in and so Dr. Pikna, not our usual and we also found out that she is on the brink of an Ear infection~poor baby! Thankfully she is a pretty good girl despite the pain!

The kids and I love love love this song! WE blare it loud and then belt it out!



I love hearing their little voices ask for, beg for, and then recite the living he loved me song.

Insomnia

Sammie's insomnia I partly feel is a phase. I do remember Dash going through this phase at this age, but he was one that would nap twice during the day to make up for the lack of sleep at night. I can not make sammie sleep more, and to be quite honest, I dont want to force that because that means, we are not able to do anything or go anywhere during the day. She'd nap in the morning and then in the afternoon. MMMMM no fun! I have been trying to put her to bed at 6pm over the past week. Unfortunately, our schedules are wacko last week and the next week that it has not been very consistant. It is also a very difficult task! Imagine to put her to bed at 6, means dinner at 4:30! They sometimes just wake up from their naps at 3 or 3:30. I am having a hard time dealing with her lack of sleep and have broke down in tears about it. I just want someone to come in and fix my big girl so I can enjoy her again!

3rd Hand

Ali has been doing this for quite some time, but I so wish I had that camera that is attached to the side of your head, you know the one that is always on, recording all the moments of the day, today. In typical Ali fashion, she was taking Dash's baseballs while he was getting dressed. Because there were three and she only had two hands, she uses her mouth as her third hand. So she will walk around carrying one ball in each hand and another in her mouth(let me state that the balls are squishy~hence indoor baseballs). Today one fell out of her mouth. So instead of putting a differant in her mouth and bending down to pick up the ball that dropped, she bends in half, with two balls still in her hands and directly picks the third ball off the floor with her mouth.

This girl seriously thinks her mouth is a third hand!

Digital

I am very thankful 1. for the invention of digital cameras and 2. that i have one. I am finished uploading my January photos for 2010 and have more than 500 pictures! That is just for that month!

Insomnia

For over a year, I have felt that Sammie is not getting enough sleep at night nor during the day. I would say that this all began when she was teething and she has not corrected herself. I know that Dash went through this phase, but he would make it up in day time naps. As a matter of fact at the age that Sammie is currently at, Dash was still taking two naps a day. It wasn't until shortly after 3 that he went down to only 1 nap a day. So for the next week or two, we will be making some changes around the house to see if there are factors we can change and if no improvement, then a visit to the doctor.

I am mostly concerned about this issue because it has grown to a point that she can not focus, has mood swings, memory problems, can't make a decision, and NO attention span. The lack of sleep is sevearly affecting her day to day life and growing. This behavior leads me to be snapy and a very very frusterated Mom. This leads me to treat her in ways I dont like, she doesnt like, and Im sure that God doesnt like. I know that there is more to this than simply shes afraid of the dark. I am hoping to find answers soon so that I can be the mom I want to be to her but mostly so that she can grow and develop.

My mom's surgery went well. She is out of the ICU and in a regular hospital room. She will be there until Sunday. Please continue to pray for fast healing for the body and the mind. Thanks.

my moms syrgery has been post poned to wednesday, becasue the dr had an emergency come up that he needed today's time slot for. I will keep you posted as i know more. thanks for praying

Prayer

Please be in prayer this coming Monday and the next week. My mom is going in for a 5 times bypass surgery! Surgery is scheduled for Monday, May 10th at 11am and it is a 3 hour process. After which she will be in the ICU and be on a ventilator for the day and then in the hospital for the week.

With all of this, she has no insurance either!

I have started a new site to share my photos. I have found it rather slow to upload a large amount of photos to this site. I will ocasionally post photos here, but should have invited most of you to my share site with shutterfly. I back up my photos to shutterfly as well as a cd and they were offering 60 free prints to start a share site and since I can load an entire album at once, very similar to FB I decided why not. If you have not gotten an email invite for the share site, let me know and I can invite you. Similar to our blog, it is visable by invite only and with a password.

Grant Update

Last week we had a company by the name of B-dry Systems of Milwaukee come out and take a look at our property to see what needs to be done to "waterproof" our house. This gentleman said that we dont need to install an inside drain tile system. What we need to do is replace the driveway, put up gutters(which we dont want to), and regrade the one side of the house that we thought we did a good job doing. I emailed this information to Tim(our inspector that we are working with). I dont think he liked this answer and asked if I had gotten a hold of the 2nd company he had given me. Today Mc Coy Contractors came out to take a look at our property. He came up with our best solution of digging up around the foundation, installing a drain tile on the outside, back filling it with crushed stone, topping it off with a filter then top soil. This should take care of our issues. Now he said he cant gurantee that we'd have a 100% waterproof basement all the time, but this should significantly help us. If we were allowed to go this route, we would then get a new front proch(needed), a new back stoop(not really a need), and a new driveway(a DESPERATE need).

So I ask that you continue to pray for God's will to be done here because this is His house and we want to glorifiy Him with the work and the house. I will keep you updated as I know more.

Laundry

The other moring, the kids had woken up before me, which isnt unsual, but what is is that I heard them say to eachother to put away their laundry that was folded and sitting on the couch. When I finally rolled out of bed, they had put 90% of their laundry away all by themselves and without being told. What else out there could make a mom's heart happy :)

New Tooth!

Yup that is right, another new tooth. This makes tooth number 5, which she has popped 3 in the last four weeks. So as you can imagine, it has been quite whiney around here :)
This is one on the bottom, making three on the bottom and two on top.

Screen Door

Today we went out to my dad's house to help him split some wood. Dash was excited to go out side so he bolted past the kitchen table and then straight out the screen door that was closed! He not only put a whole in the screen but he busted it off the track so much so that it landed on his head! It was so funny, yet we felt so bad for breaking the screen.
