Angry
Tonight while we were trick-or-treating, I found that I am weird. I went with some other friends and found that no one else in my group knew that, you only go to houses with the porch light on. They also didn't think to bring an extra bag to pour the candy in when the kids buckets get to heavy to carry themselves. So it was a bit difficult to teach the kids these important rules, but something did catch on with Dash. After I was able to explain the rules to trick-or-treating to them Dash was all over going to the houses with the light on! Ooo, I see the light! Unfortunately, the trick-or-treat dispersers did not follow the rules themselves, so this made it difficult for the kids. We were nearing the end of our 2.5 hour journey of collecting candy, when we went to a few houses that had bowls out for kids to pick one from. They were all empty. Then we went to a house with a light on, and no one answered. Dash says to me, "I'm Angry. I'm Angry that was 4 houses that didn't give me candy!!!" Despite this "rage" of anger, he was very polite at the houses, saying "trick-or-treat" and "thank you". The kids also learned to wait for each other.

Friends
Dash is loving school Mondays and Tuesdays. Come Wednesdays he is fried and then endures Thursdays and Fridays. Right now his best friends at school are Patrick, Lilly, Owen, and Jackson. He can write Owen and Patrick's name, not in the right order, but get all the letters on the page somewhere. He can write the numbers 1-7 and several of his letters. They are not doing the alphabet in order so I don't know off the top of my head where he is at. He really likes his teachers Ms. Jessica and Ms. Melinda.

Acceptance
I think it is time for me to accept that I have lost my best friend. I am not so sure why or what changed. Was it something I did, is it that she found other friends that don't like me, was it a way I offended her, did she feel taken advantage of, am I no fun, or did I not really lose her and she is just busy with life with everyone else. I guess that sounds like I lost her. I am not sure what really happened since May, but yeah. My cell phone is much more silent, the kind of silent we use to joke about when she would leave for a period of time. My talk time with her is near zero. Is it because I have nothing worth talking about? Is it because I only ta I I am no longer on the top of her talking to list, it feels that I am on the "need to know" basis. Am I feeling these things because I need to know what is going on in her life and have control? I don't think that is the case, because it is really hurting my heart~it's brought tears to my eyes over the past few weeks. I know something major just happened in her life and I find out about it by reading her blog. I know she is having issues with another friend of hers and I want to be there for her. It seems as though the door is shut on that. I guess I pushed things today when I tried to put myself in the loop. I ended up sounding like a complete Witch to her. I really wanted to talk to her about it, but I made comments that only made it worse than what it was and the sad thing is I don't think she really cares what I have to say. Not that she needs to care, she is a grown person with a mind of her own. She does not owe me anything, she does not need to answer to me. I just love her as my own and I really don't like where things have gone~at least not knowing why they have gone this way. I know that I haven't been the best friend in encouraging her walk with Jesus, mostly because I have failed on my own walk with Him. I know that I have probably been very self-centered and opinionated in my views that I have shared with her. I know that I have been very opinionated in decisions her family member has made. It feels that our only connection now is the kids and if that were not there, I would never see or hear from her. I miss her. I miss going to her. I miss having a friend that would stay late and hang out with me. I miss all the things that come with a best friend. I just wish I knew what I did, honestly, not the I'm too busy for you answer. Either way, I love her dearly and miss her very much.

No Trucks
Tonight on our way home from church as we were passing the DMV on West Ave. Dash says to me in a confused tone, "no trucks, mom". He repeated it several times and it took me a few to figure it out what he was meaning, but I got it. HE READ THE SIGN! Yes, that is it, he read the sign to the main DMV parking lot. It says no Trucks, they get to use a differant parking lot. Now, he was confused as to why trucks could not use that parking lot and that took a bit of explaining and maybe he'll understand that, but he READ WORDS(not pictures) ALL BY HIMSELF IN A MOVING VEHICLE!

We are getting closer...
kinda~
About a week ago I got a call from Lori the lady in charge of the grant funds. She wanted to talk to me about the project and where we were at with things. We touched base earlier this week and she said that we should consider talking to a foundation consultant to get his opinion. Basically, we need to get the cost of renovations below $47,650. So he was out here on Wednesday and now I need to try to get someone out here to bid on his recommendation. ASAP. I told Lori that we are willing to forego some of the renovations to bring us below that mark. So hopefully I can get someone here in the next week or two.

When I get....
Tonight as Dash was outside sweeping the driveway I saw something new and gray laying out in the leaves. I had a feeling it was a dead animal so I went out to check it out. Come to find out it was a dead Robin. I had called Ryan at work to verify what I needed to do or not do. So instead of handling it right away, I just told Dash to come in the house(I was making dinner). Well, he needed to show Sammie and it became the topic of the night. While we were at the table Sammie piped up and said, "Where's the baby bird's mommy? Oh, I know, at the park."(Now, let me say that this was not a baby bird, but in the spring at the zoo we saw a very newly hatched baby bird on the ground dying so I guess all dead birds are baby birds that need their mommys) So that was funny joke number 1. While Dash finished dinner I had gone outside to clean up the dead bird. Sammie came with me to see it. Later after dinner, but not by much time I was putting Jay Bird to bed, Sammie commented, "When I turn Jay's age, I will get a red tummy and white head and I will climb in the tree and I will fall down. And then you(mommy) will pick me up(which she means with a plastic bag). That was a funny joke, huh? Can you call Mr. Rick and tell him my funny joke." She then repeated the funny joke several times, but added a new line, "But If I move, you(mommy) no can pick me up and put me in the garbage(cuz that's what I did with the dead bird)."

Snuggly!

As much as Ali loves to lie in a random bed, put her head on a pillow, pull the blankets up, and look like she could fall asleep; she does not like to sleep with pillows. I have put a pillow her crib with her on a few different occasions and all she does is play with it. It is more distracting than it is comforting for her. It is just so interesting how different each kid is. Dash had a pillow before he was 1. Not much before, but he loved his pillow. Sammie was a bit later, but Ali is holding out the longest!

Pumpkins
Every year we go to the Waukesha County Farmers Market to pick up our pumpkins. Ironically, we end up buying from the same farmer. Yesterday, the kids and I loaded up the wagon in the van and headed to the market. Last year, it was very very windy and very cold out. This year....Sammie was in shorts and a t-shirt while we pumpkin shopped! The kids also "learned" a lesson this year. Our total came to $14 for 5 pumpkins. I handed the lady a $20(ok, dash did) and she gave the change back to Dash. When he handed it to me I threw it in my purse and we left. Later on our way to Babies 'r us I was putting the money in my wallet better and found an extra $10 in my wallet. So we turned around and went back to the farmers market to give them their $10 back! I think the farmer was more impressed and thankful than the kids that were to "learn" something were. But it did sink it on a 3 and 4 year old level(as told to Daddy later in the night)~"the lady get 2 monies and mommy only get 1 money."

Here we have 6 pumpkins, because Dash got one on his field trip this year to the busy barns farm with school.

We are painting outside in our pjs(because we are using non washable paint). Dash picked out a picture of Percy Train to paint and Sammie a mouse.

Dash's finshed product on pumpkin #2. On this pumpkin you will find, Mr. the King, Lightening McQueen, and Chick Hicks.

Chore Chart
today the kids watched Sid the Science Kid(love love love love love it as a parent) it was about a chore chart. after the show was over they went and got their markers and coloring book to make a chore chart. So guess what we are making tomorrow and starting monday~a chore chart. This is something that we have been meaning to do for a bit now, because Dash wants a few toys and I feel he needs to earn them.....so here we go starting a new way to life next week
The Results Are In.....
Sammie does not suffer from sleep apnea. Her results showed that her snoring does not interfere with her sleeping/breathing. Her Oxygen levels were fine. The biggest thing that they had cared about was her itching and that it took her over an hour to fall asleep. The itching I attributed to the tape she had on during the study. She was soooo sensitive to it that for the next 24 hours she had tape marks on her face where each electrode thingy was. Poor girl. To help her fall asleep faster, she will be taking Melatonin(the sleeping thing found in turkey). We are going to try this for 2 months before going back into her sleep doctor.
My take on this after 2 days on the Melatonin~I need to set up a strict sleeping/daily routine. Naps and bed time at the same time each day. No more spontonaeouty. This will be a VERY difficult task for me. I do not like being bound to the house. But if it means a better life for Sammie, than that is what I have to do. So for now that is all I have on her sleep issues~no concrete yes answers, just more~not this!

All by myself
Last night we reached a milestone in the Cohan family. Last night was a bath night. For awhile now Dash enjoys taking a bath by himself and I like to let him based on the nights timing with the girls. Well last night was a bath by himself night. When he takes a bath by himself, I usually sit in the bathroom reading a book. Last night I asked him if he wanted me to stay in the bathroom or if he wanted me to go in the living room(mostly that is what i wanted to do since I had a MOUND of laundry to fold). He said he wanted me to go in the living room. So I did. I left the door open a bit so I could hear him in the bathroom. He had played for awhile and I was finishing up with something and was going to give Dash the warning call to soap up time and I didn't hear him playing. So I headed to the bathroom to check on him and just as I was getting to the door I heard a HUGE splash of water. I was relieved to know he was ok and when I walked into the bathroom he had all the toys picked up and put back in the basket, had washed himself, and was in the rinsing stage! He then proceeded to empty the tub of water and dry himself off. My big boy is getting to be a BIG BOY. When he was all finished, he looked at me and said, "I did it all by my self. I make you very happy."(with a GINORMIS smile on his face.)

Duck Medicine

Well, the day has arrived that all 3 of my children have had to take a nebulizer treatment. I am not so sure why Sammie turned this avenue, but last night she was starting to wheeze. Today we had her annual allergist appointment so he heard the wheezing. He didn't like it so therefore she got the duck medicine twice today. She was a champ with it! Now back to the allergist appointment. We have broke down and gotten the epi pen. I have been anti epi pen mostly I think because I have nto wanted to admit that her food allergies were that bad to have one. Actually, she is really just left with the peanut one. I know that is a major life threatening one, however I don't believe that hers is that bad. Anyway, the Dr. about passed out when I said we've gone to Texas Roadhouse with her. I did notice that the last time we went she left a bit more sneezey then before. SoI was going to think twice and pay closer attention the next time we went. So we shall see how that goes. I talked to him about her daily zyrtek/sleep issues. As he listened he also thinks that is could be the tonsils and adnoids. He also thinks that we might beable to stop the daily zytrek if she has surgery. He said that sometimes the tonsils and adnoids block the proper drainage so it all leaks out the nose. He also said that the zyrtek will dry it all up no matter if it is allergy related~which i guess is why it works better than clariton. So if she has surgery(all pending on sleep study results~hoping to get soon) he said to stop it and see if it was anatomy causing the drainage or if it continues we know it is allergy causing the drainage. He offered a blood test, but him and I both decided not to do it. All it would find is what she is really allregic to. However, we felt it wasn't necessary at this time. As for the strawberries and egg allergy. She had outgrown the strawberry allergy last year and since has had no problems. The egg I still think is a topical allergy~where ever it touches her skin, she'll get a rach that goes away. She can eat foods containing eggs, but he said to stay away from eggs themself. Which works out fine since she doesn't like to eat them. The appointment for her skin/ecezma~fine. I am doing a good job treating it he said. So in a year we will see him again and hopefully by then we will not be taking daily zyrtek

95, 43, 86, 52
Are the numbers of lightening mcqueen, mr. the king, chick hicks, and the leaks less car.
After the wedding before the reception, Ryan and Dash went out side to find something to do during pictures. They sat on the steps of the church and started looking at cars. Together they would try to find, lightening mcqueen, mr. the king, chick hicks. That means, any red car was lightening, a blue car was mr. the kind, a green on chick hicks, and any brown truck(which was hard to find) was mater. They had a blast. So much so that to this day while we are driving in the van he sees the appropriate colored car and loves it. He has a blast finding the cars. Dash introduced a new car in the mix, the 52 car. I am not sure what he likes this one so much from the movie, but he does. So any sort of white car is the 52 car. I am not sure why the white specifically since the 52 car is primarily yellow, with some black and some white. Either way I am so glad he finds such pleaser in the littlest things.
