Today while Dash was at school, I had some cleaning plans to get done. Sammie is trying to earn a Build-a-bear dog that costs $60, so I had a feeling she would be all for scrubbing the kitchen floor and cleaning the bathroom. So when I asked her what she wanted to clean today, she said she wanted to make cookies. "Cookies?" I said, "ok". Thankfully Ryan did the dishes and made the kitchen look awesome so that there was even counter space to make the cookies. When we make cookies I usually let Sammie stir the dry ingrediants. Ever since she saw the Barney where the kids "make" bread with flour and water and their hands thats how she thinks she needs to mix the flour. Since it is for cookies and those are the essential tools to making good cookies, I have resorted to letting her "make" bread. She gets some flour, water, bowl, spoon, and today even some sugar. She spent most of the cookie making doing that and then the rest of the cookie making over at the sink washing her hands. But in her mind, "She made cookies with mom today" and I would have it no other way. Skip the cleaning and enjoy these one on one mornings while we have them before she goes off to school in the fall.
