The hole in my Bathroom wall! The chimney is coming down!
the hole with more light
the hole in the ceiling. you can see the plywood to the roof!
Big Helper #1. These are the bricks from the chimney. We are trying to keep them. Ryan stacked them in the bathroom through out the day and at the end of it, the kids helped him take them to the back door, then again the took them outside. After Ali saw Dash and Sammie carrying bricks, she went and helped herself to the little bricks. She surprised us all at the back door with a brick in her hand.
A realy taking the bricks from me at the back door to Ryan outside
Ali getting her brick from the house.
Strong! (she is wearing dash's coat, she wanted to badly to wear it!)
She was too fast to stop for a picture!
"Dash, show me that big brick you are carrying!"
YES, she stopped so I could get one!
Showing how strong he is, by taking the brick from the bottom of the pile!
She ran out of her bricks and wanted to be just like Dash and Sammie! So she helped her self to a big brick.
So Strong!
this is the wall the Egress window will be on. We will not be drywalling this part, but it is to be made to a flatish, paintable surface.
Well today marks 1 year that I have been in forward motion with the grant procss. It continues to amaze me what God has in store for us with this money. Last week Ryan and I were discussing if we really need to have the Egress. After some conversation with Tim (the inspector/work write-up guy), I had laid it out that we needed to know if we needed to have one or not. We are thinking of some other things we should do to the house at this time too, like put some gutters up. I told Tim that we knew the grant doesn't cover the Egress window and we were willing to pay for it, but we needed to know so we knew how much we have left for gutters. He responded, not this sweet and to the point, but basically saying he can get the grant money to cover the Egress window! So there you have it we will be having an Egress window installed and it will be fully covered by the grant. I also had an electrician out the other day and we will basically be getting all new wiring in the basement. We are to get a new panel and so much. I don't have all the bids in yet and quite frankly I am trying really hard to be patient about it. That is the 2nd biggest lesson, although it is wrapped up in the 1st that God is teaching me here. And that is to have patience(#2) and to trust Him to provide for our needs (#1).
