This week I have seen my kids grow leaps and bounds!
Sunday, Dash went to his first no Mommy birthday party. He went to Mason's party at pump it up. I left work to drive the taxi to get Dash then to Target to pick out Mason's present. We then hopped back in the taxi and went to the party. I went in and watched him play with his friends. He then sat next to Mason watching the instruction video of the rules. It was at that point that I started to tear up. Watching my big kid grow up! I tried to fight the tears back and I did before anyone saw me. Once we got in the room and he went to playing, I was able to leave without crying.
On Monday, I needed to go the Dr to get a perscription for my Sinus Infection. I have never as an adult taken any antibiotic for my sinus infection. However, this was one much more intense. I couldn't hear I was so plugged. My eyes were itchy and I was miserable! I had talked to my friend Molly and it ended up that the girls went to her house when I went in. Sammie had asked if Maddie could come over a week or so ago. She has been feeling lonely. Dash has friends from school to invite over where she does not. So she asked if she could have Maddie over. It just so happened that Maddie was off school. So Sammie got to have a play date. When it was time to leave Sammie didn't want to leave. She asked if Maddie could come over to play and so she did. Maddie was over for 4 hours. I tried for the first 2 hours to make it clear that Maddie was Sammie's friend for the day to Dash. He had a hard time comprehending it at first, but after playing Wii he forgot about it. It was so cool ot hear Sammie talking like a big girl to her friend. A girl that I know that is in there, but I don't get to see very often. She used her imagination! Maddie is a great friend, how often would a 10 year old want to play with a 3 and 4 year old for 4 hours and go home and say she had fun!
Then there is Ali. Dash had woken up during the night Monday night. He came in our room and asked me if I would snuggle him up in his bed. So I did. At some point I woke up and saw that Ali's fish tank was on. I looked down to see her crawling under her bed looking for her Nuk. Such a big girl! She has been looking under her bed for months now, even back when she had a crib. In the morning she would always go looking. She still does that to this day. However, it was through the night that I learned she does it then too! Who knew, I never would have if I never saw it!
