The kids have really been talking about who is marrying who some day. So I thought I would get it down for the future.
Dash says he is going to marry Gretchen Weber.
Sammie says he is going to marry Kenny Weber.
Ali says she is going to marry Christian Pierret.
The issue of two girls marrying each other came up the other day. Sammie asked me if that was OK (where as earlier this year she was quick to tell me that girls marry boys and boys marry girls. Girls don't marry girls and boys don't marry boys). I told her "no" and she was quick to tell me that Gretchen's mom said that they can. Gretchen corrected her to say that they don't get married, but they can be together and adopt a child.
I am sad that this issue is already an issue in my 4 year old's life.
I told them both that girls are not supposed to be with girls. God says "no" and we obey God's rules. He tells us in the Bible that is not ok.
Subject dropped.
That goes "lesson 1" in this department!
Our household has had similar conversations lately...not about who they'll marry...but the boy's marry girls, girls marry boys topic. I agree with you...it's sad that it is an issue at such a young age, but thankfully we have the bible as our guidance.
