There is a family at our church that loves on us so much. They love Dash and Sammie! They enjoy seeing them each week, so much so if we miss a week or two in a row without warning, they begin to worry! They enjoy seeing Ryan and I, but I know not as much as the kids. They enjoy playing with them, chasing, carrying, and talking to them.
Once in awhile this family will take us out to lunch to spend some time with us. We get to choose the place and quite honestly we would be happy with Culvers since we dont get out much, but they want to take us to nicer places. We usually end up at Texas Road house. Kind of a default for me since I dont know too many "nice" places to take our kids to eat.
Today after lunch we went shopping. We were warned that we were going to do this so I had time to figure out what the kids could really use. With June fastly approaching and the basement still wet, we are going to have to put all three in one room for a bit. So Ryan is going to build Dash and Sammie a loft style bunk bed(once we figure out where to put the ceiling fan so Dash doesnt start hanging from it). I thought that character bedding would be nice. This is not something I think is necessary nor would we have the money to buy them. Ryan and I talked and agreed that this was what we would choose to get the kids. We informed the family and we headed off to walmart. Dash picked out Disney/Pixar Cars theme(duh) and Sammie picked out a monkey theme. I was ok with one sheet set and a comforter each. They came home with 2 sheet sets each, a comforter, a decorator pillow, and an extra blanket. I was ready to head to the check out until I heard....off to the toys now.
Our kids dont really play with a lot of toys. Dash with cars and trains. Sammie with babies and stuffed animals. So we found one toy for each. Dash a Lightening Mc Queen and Sammie a bed for her baby. I thought, ok that is more than plenty for my children! But we kept shopping. Dash wound up with a Cars rug and an airplane. While Sammie came home with another baby and a diaper bag full of goodies for her babies.
To top it off, they provided us with money for me to get maternity clothes and enough to cover what we needed yet to get our new vacuum!
When we first started these shopping sprees it was hard for Ryan and I to find something for the kids. We felt bad since they just took us out to dinner and a not so cheap place and now are taking our kids to the toy store. Over the past few trips we have learned to let them do what they want. Let them love us as God has allowed them to.
It is amazing the people God puts in our lives to take care of us. He has provided us with wonderful friends(they are family to us) to help take care of the kids. To provide them with the fun things that we cant. And to allow us to sit back and watch God work.
Is a character comforter that important to God? NO, but the smiles He sees on all of His children's faces when there is one in the cart is!
So thank you God for giving us an amazing family that takes such great care of us.
Thank you to the family for letting God work through you to provide for us. We wish that someday we could bless others they way that you have(and will continue) to bless us.
